Celebrating the 2025 Women in Leadership Cohort: Six Weeks of Growth, Impact, and Transformation
The Career Women in Leadership Training Program, organized and certified by Leadership and Innovation Academy (LIA), was completed on August 30, 2025. The six-week impactful Saturday learning was a reflection of a learning and growth program
The program, which commenced on 26th July 2025, brought together a diverse group of women committed to developing their leadership capacity, strengthening their voices, and building meaningful networks. Over the six weeks, participants explored a wide range of learning, including but not limited to case studies, class activities on leadership, and effective communication. Participants shared various tools for team building, strategic decision making, and action plans. There were opportunities for career growth and mentorship with session administrators and leaders.
A key highlight of the program was the inspiring visits from distinguished leaders. AIG Aishatu Abubakar-Baju of the Nigeria Police Force challenged participants with her story of resilience, dedication to service, and breaking barriers in a male-dominated profession. Equally, Dr. Maryam Habib, President of the Medical Women’s Association, Abuja Chapter, encouraged the women to pursue excellence with courage, balance, and a spirit of service. Their stories of struggle and triumph left lasting impressions on the participants. A senior executive in one of the Nigerian leading banks was in the class to share alternative opportunities for investments with the partiicpants.
Beyond classroom discussions, participants engaged in action planning, group activities, mentorship sessions, book reviews, and a unique “Secret Friend” initiative designed to foster deeper bonds and mutual encouragement. Each week, they were challenged not only to learn but also to practice leadership in action.
The closing ceremony featured a roundtable discussion, presentations, certificate awards, and celebrations, marking both the end of a journey and the beginning of a new chapter. Participants left inspired, connected, and better equipped to make a meaningful impact in their spheres of influence.
We are proud of the remarkable women who completed this program and are grateful for the trust they placed in us. We hope that the lessons learned and the networks built will continue to inspire growth, confidence, and transformational leadership.
